Meet the Artist
Amelia Dreschel is a professional artist, graphic designer, dog lover, wife, and expectant mom to a baby girl due spring 2025. She was inspired to create Paper and Pet by her own two dogs, Ollie, a silly and cuddly dapple dachshund, and Max, a loyal and energetic german shepherd.
Amelia has specialized in commissioned artwork since 2015, when she started an online shop selling handmade goods and custom paintings while in college. This side hustle quickly became a career and she went on to earn a bachelors in fine art with a concentration in painting. For years, she has been honing her skills through both academic studies and countless hours of practice, resulting in quality work and professional craftsmanship.
Paper and Pet was created to combine Amelia’s love of drawing pets with her fine art background and eye for design. With so many pet portrait styles out there, she wanted to offer something different. The goal was to create artwork that was timeless and classic and elevate the pet portrait to a status of fine art worthy of a sophisticated home. The style of paper and pet sketches combines classic quick sketch techniques with refined mark-making to create portraits that effortlessly capture the energy, personality, and soul of your beloved pet. The minimalist illustrative style is influenced by vintage drawings that you’d find in old newspaper or books and the artwork is created using archival materials, resulting in heirloom quality pieces that will stand the test of time.
